Dataslayer Wrapped 2024: Celebrating Unstoppable Growth

Wow, can you believe the end of the year is already here? I’ve been listening to Mariah Carey’s Christmas classics for over a month now! Time really flies, especially when you work in marketing, where it feels like every month brings a new event or campaign.

2024 has been an incredible year for us here at Dataslayer, filled with growth, exciting new features, and updates designed to make our tool even more powerful for marketers like you. Let’s take a look back at the biggest updates and milestones from Dataslayer this year!

Morpheus

This Dataslayer Wrapped 2024 has to start with Morpheus, which is, without a doubt, our favorite feature of the year.

If you’ve somehow missed it (I’m not sure what you’ve been doing if you use Dataslayer and haven’t tried Morpheus yet, but hey, no judgment), Morpheus is a powerful Marketing Mix Modeling platform. It helps you optimize your budget by reallocating funds to the channels that provide the best return on investment. The best part? It doesn’t rely on tracking or cookie data. All it needs from you is at least a year’s worth of data to deliver the most accurate insights.

You’re probably familiar with GA4 attribution, which focuses on short-term, user-level insights and specific touchpoints. Morpheus, on the other hand, takes a broader approach. It evaluates both online and offline channels, along with external factors like weather, seasonality, and economic trends, to assess the overall impact on sales. This gives you a holistic view of how every marketing effort contributes to your business outcomes.

With Morpheus, you can dive deep into your data, uncover its full potential, and even forecast future outcomes. It simulates different marketing investment scenarios, helping you predict what will work best based on historical trends.

Data Blending & Custom Formulas

The Data Blending is another standout feature of the year, and we couldn’t be more excited about how well it’s been received. It’s always great to launch something new and see you dive in and make it your own!

Our Blended Connectors are available on the Large Plans for all our destinations (with the exception of Looker Studio, which has its own Blended feature). This tool allows you to merge multiple data sources into a single, unified dataset. But that’s not all, you can also create custom metrics within the blended connectors, so your reports can be tailored exactly to your needs!

This feature reduces the need for multiple queries and tables, letting you compare, combine, and contrast data from different channels in one place (a dream!). 

Leaders on G2!

Remember when we traded cards as kids and hated getting duplicates? Well, as adults in marketing, we’ve totally flipped the script. We now love earning repeat badges (and picking up new ones), especially when they come from G2!

DMWF Event

We attended the DMWF Event, and we loved it! It was our first (but definitely not our last) event, and the experience was amazing. Meeting so many of you in person was a highlight, and we’re already thinking about where to go next!

Web & APP

A lot has happened with our web and app this year! We’ve been working hard to improve your experience, so let’s break down the most important changes and new features.

New UI app

We’ve given the Dataslayer App a fresh new look to make it easier and more enjoyable to use. We wanted to make sure it’s not only nice to look at but also easy to navigate. Plus, one of the most requested features is now available: you can now check your invoice history directly in the app!

User Guides 

To match the new design, we’ve also created simple and clear User Guides. These guides will help new users understand how each feature works. Some guides are step-by-step instructions, and others have video demos! We know that sometimes you prefer not to make that video demo call (we totally understand!), so now you can watch the demos on your own time. And don’t worry, our live chat is always here if you need help, we have the G2 badge of the best support for a reason!

Website in 5 languages 

Since Dataslayer is becoming more international, we’ve made it easier for our global users to access our website and app. We’ve translated both into 5 different languages to make sure everyone around the world can use our tools in their preferred language.

Destinations

In 2024 we didn’t launch 1 or 2, we launched 3 new destinations! 

Power BI

If you’re more into Microsoft than Google, Power BI is the perfect alternative to Looker Studio. Microsoft Power BI is a powerful data visualization and reporting platform, while it’s often used by business analysts, it’s designed to be accessible even for those without specialized data knowledge.

With the Dataslayer connector, you can easily create reports and dashboards that automatically pull in your marketing data. Power BI lets you turn that data into a wide range of visuals, including pie charts, decomposition trees, gauge charts, KPIs, combo charts, bar and column charts, ribbon charts, and many more options. 

Amazon S3 & Redshift destinations

If you’re looking to manage marketing data, this year we’ve also launched the Amazon S3 and Amazon Redshift destinations.

With Dataslayer for Amazon S3, you can easily store large volumes of raw marketing data, such as campaign files or images, in a scalable and cost-effective way. It’s perfect for keeping your data secure and easily accessible.

On the other hand, Amazon Redshift is a powerful data warehouse, and with Dataslayer, you can seamlessly transfer your marketing data for fast analysis. It’s ideal for marketers who need to run complex queries and generate insights quickly, making it perfect for in-depth analytics and reporting.

Globant Case Study: How they achieve higher productivity with Dataslayer
